The area covered by this group of Parishes includes the Hook head peninsula, the JF Kennedy Park, the historic town of New Ross and St. Mullins in the Barrow Valley. Duncannon is a pleasant sea-side resort with a population of around 350 people. The village is steeped in history - Dun Canainn, or as the translation 'Cannin's Fort' implies, has had a fort from the earliest times. Duncannon Fort is star shaped and was built in 1588. Previously a Celtic fort and a Norman Castle had been on the site.
