The Revd Canon Barbara Y. Fryday
The Rt. Revd Michael Burrows and the Board of Nomination of the Clonmel Union of Parishes have pleasure in announcing the appointment of the Revd Canon Barbara Y. Fryday to the incumbency of Clonmel and will succeed the Revd Canon George Knowd who retired in June 2006. The Institution will take place on Friday 12th January 2007. Canon Fryday has been rector of Kilcooley/Fertagh Group of Parishes since 1996 and Canon of the Prebendary of Tascoffin since 2003. She is also co-ordinator of the Diocesan Link with Lünd in Sweden. The Bishop of Cahsel and Ossory the Rt. Revd Michael Burrows has pleasure in announcing the appointment of the Revd Nancy Gillespie to the Prebendary of Blackrath as a Canon of St. Canice’s Cathedral Kilkenny, replacing the Revd Canon George Knowd who retired in June 2006. Her installation as canon will take place at Evensong in St. Canice’s Cathedral on Sunday 26th November 2006 at 5 p.m. The Revd Nancy Gillespie has been Rector of Stradbally Group of Parishes in Co. The Revd Elaine Murray, Curate-Assistant of the Kilkenny Group of Parishes is to be Vicar in the same group while also remaining Bishop's Vicar to the Bishop of Cashel and Ossory. This will be formalised in a special service of affirmation on 31st August.
The Revd Arthur Minion, Incumbent of Shinrone in the Diocese of Killaloe has been appointed Incumbent of Crosspatrick and Carnew Group (Ferns). The date for his installation has been set for Friday 19th September.
The Appointment has been announced of the new rector of Killeshin Group. The new incumbent will be the Revd Olive Henderson currently rector of Rathdrum in the Diocese of Dublin and Glendalough where she has been since 1997. Ms Henderson will succeed the Revd Roy Byrne who has moved to Drumcondra in Dublin.
