Home....Welcome
The Peace of the Lord be always with you!
Those words of greeting which Christians characteristically share when they meet for the Eucharist we extend to you as you explore our website. We hope it points you towards worship and witness that are sources of peace and joy in this turbulent world.
The Church of Ireland (a member of the global Anglican family of churches) welcomes you to share its life and worship in this diocese, covering much of the south east of Ireland. We worship in nearly a hundred and fifty churches, including six ancient cathedrals, from Rosslare to Portlaoise and from Baltinglass to the Glen of Aherlow. We relish our ancient and beautiful holy places, but we also want holiness to pervade everyday life. As people engage with economic difficulties, environmental challenges, human vulnerability and great decisions we want to be alongside in the name of Christ - striving to care and to make a difference.
We hope that exploring our site will encourage you also to have face to face encounters, to build friendships, to know something more of what it involves to be Christ's Body in today's world. And we hope too that you will realise that we need your involvement, not least through your prayers for our work, in order to further God's Kingdom more effectively in this truly beautiful part of Ireland.
